Spotlight is a series where we highlight the creative journeys of our community members as they bring their stories to life using Consistent Character AI. Meet Naomi Goredema.10 years ago, she began writing children's books with a vision to share ancient tales from around the world. But what started as a passion project became an overwhelming challenge when it came to creating consistent illustrations. However, today things are different. She has written 200+ children's books (and completed 20 illustrated ones in just four months). She is thinking of quitting her job to pursue her dreams full-time. What changed everything was discovering a tool that reduced her illustration time from 3 days per character to just 30 seconds: Consistent Character AI. "I used to spend three days to make one character using Photoshop, InDesign, and Midjourney. Now it takes me 30 seconds, basically. You guys have changed the game." The Journey Before AINaomi's creative journey began at 19 when she started writing children's books while living in Zimbabwe. Today, she reflects on the decade-long struggle with illustration tools. Her mother recognized her passion early on and invested in her creative education. "That was really my passion. That's why my mom paid so much money to do Photoshop classes." After moving from Zimbabwe to Switzerland, Naomi found herself balancing work with her creative dreams, making the technical challenges even more daunting. But the technical barriers were immense:
All this while she was trying to balance her job along with her passion. "I also work at the same time, so it has taken a toll on me because you need time to do all these things. You come from work and you're just like, okay, where do I start?" The TransformationWhen Naomi discovered Consistent Character AI, she was initially skeptical: "I was like, hmm, let me try it. I used my other laptop. . . Then I used it and I was like, oh my goodness!" The results were immediate and drastic:
Now she uses the tool every single day (and keeps buying more credits regularly to fulfill her creative goals). Building A Meaningful EcosphereEarly on, Naomi had noticed that children love reading books that have plenty of pictures. That’s what got her interested in creating images. But now, her success has extended to going beyond just creating images. Since the time and effort has drastically dropped, she is now working towards a creative ecosphere: Nandi Books. The platform is a series of illustrated books that tell ancient stories for modern children. She has already illustrated 20 books since March 2025 and plans to complete the remaining ones soon. She also has translated the books in multiple languages—Arabic, German, and French (with Chinese coming soon). She also built the website for it by herself in two weeks and follows a self-publishing strategy for both digital and print formats on Amazon. Global Cultural MissionDrawing from her travels across Brazil, Africa, Japan and various countries, the author creates culturally authentic stories: "I have so many stories from all over the world... I would notice that kids loved reading books with images, and that was their main focus." Life Beyond WorkThe efficiency gained through Consistent Character AI has transformed Naomi's entire lifestyle. She spends more quality time with her boyfriend and in social activities. She plays polo and pursues other hobbies. Plus, she focuses on charitable work back home in Zimbabwe. (Naomi is a leading example of giving back to one’s community.) Yet, she is retaining creative control by staying an independent self-publisher. "I'm just so happy because now I have time to play polo... I'm going to quit my job very soon because the people that are coming up to me, seeing the website, they're like, 'can we sign you up?' I'm like, no, no, no. Let me do it on my own." The Cultural Challenge SolvedWhy did Naomi not commission an illustrator for her books? "I don't think anyone could have understood what I was trying to do... When you explain to people, 'I want it like this,' they won't do it the right way. You're like, 'why are you making a Chinese person dress like an Indian person?' That doesn't make sense." Consistent Character AI solved this problem by:
Looking ForwardAI tools have helped Naomi think far beyond. This week, she’s releasing her first AI-illustrated book collection. Next year, she plans to engage with studios and build an animation movie out of her stories. And she will deploy the profits to support children’s education in Zimbabwe. The Bigger PictureNaomi's story represents more than just an efficiency gain. It's about: Cultural preservation: Bringing diverse global stories to children worldwide. Democratizing creativity: No need for expensive design teams or extensive technical skills. Economic empowerment: Transforming a side passion into a full-time career while maintaining work-life balance. "You guys really changed the game.... As a person who was an author since I was 19, you couldn't do anything like this at all. I couldn't imagine anything like this." Naomi's journey reminds us of three powerful truths:
All it takes is courage to dream bigger (and a little help from the right tools 😊). 👉 Got a story or project you're working on? We'd love to hear it.
