Meet Naomi Goredema.

10 years ago, she began writing children's books with a vision to share ancient tales from around the world.

But what started as a passion project became an overwhelming challenge when it came to creating consistent illustrations.

However, today things are different. She has written 200+ children's books (and completed 20 illustrated ones in just four months). She is thinking of quitting her job to pursue her dreams full-time.

What changed everything was discovering a tool that reduced her illustration time from 3 days per character to just 30 seconds: Consistent Character AI.

The Journey Before AI

Naomi's creative journey began at 19 when she started writing children's books while living in Zimbabwe.

Today, she reflects on the decade-long struggle with illustration tools.

Her mother recognized her passion early on and invested in her creative education.

"That was really my passion. That's why my mom paid so much money to do Photoshop classes."

After moving from Zimbabwe to Switzerland, Naomi found herself balancing work with her creative dreams, making the technical challenges even more daunting.

But the technical barriers were immense:

• Complex workflow: From using Photoshop to InDesign to Midjourney
• Time-consuming process: It took her up to 3 days to create one character.
• Consistency challenges: Her characters looked different across illustrations

All this while she was trying to balance her job along with her passion.

The Transformation

When Naomi discovered Consistent Character AI, she was initially skeptical:

"I was like, hmm, let me try it. I used my other laptop. . . Then I used it and I was like, oh my goodness!"

The results were immediate and drastic:

Building A Meaningful Ecosphere

Early on, Naomi had noticed that children love reading books that have plenty of pictures. That’s what got her interested in creating images.

But now, her success has extended to going beyond just creating images. Since the time and effort has drastically dropped, she is now working towards a creative ecosphere: Nandi Books.

The platform is a series of illustrated books that tell ancient stories for modern children. She has already illustrated 20 books since March 2025 and plans to complete the remaining ones soon. She also has translated the books in multiple languages—Arabic, German, and French (with Chinese coming soon).

She also built the website for it by herself in two weeks and follows a self-publishing strategy for both digital and print formats on Amazon.

Drawing from her travels across Brazil, Africa, Japan and various countries, the author creates culturally authentic stories:

Life Beyond Work

The efficiency gained through Consistent Character AI has transformed Naomi's entire lifestyle.

She spends more quality time with her boyfriend and in social activities. She plays polo and pursues other hobbies. Plus, she focuses on charitable work back home in Zimbabwe. (Naomi is a leading example of giving back to one’s community.)

Yet, she is retaining creative control by staying an independent self-publisher.

The Cultural Challenge Solved

Why did Naomi not commission an illustrator for her books?

Looking Forward

AI tools have helped Naomi think far beyond.

This week, she’s releasing her first AI-illustrated book collection. Next year, she plans to engage with studios and build an animation movie out of her stories. And she will deploy the profits to support children’s education in Zimbabwe.
